Ziggo Lanka (Pvt) Ltd ("Ziggo", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Name, mobile number, email, and date of birth when you sign up.
- Payment details (handled through our secure payment partners; we never store full card numbers).
- Identification documents if you sign up as a driver, merchant, or business.
Information we collect automatically
- Location data when you use the app (only while the app is running, unless you opt into background location).
- Trip and order history.
- Device information: model, OS, IP address, app version.
2. How we use your information
- To match you with drivers, merchants, and couriers.
- To process payments and refunds.
- To verify your identity and prevent fraud.
- To improve our services, models, and user experience.
- To send you operational messages (booking updates, receipts) and, if you opt in, marketing.
3. Sharing your information
We share only what's necessary: with your driver (name, pickup/drop), with merchants (delivery address), with payment processors (transaction details), and with regulators when legally required. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Your rights
- Access your data through the in-app "Privacy" section.
- Request correction or deletion by emailing privacy@ziggo.lk.
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
- Request a copy of your data in machine-readable format.
5. Data retention
We retain trip and transaction data for 7 years to comply with Sri Lankan tax and consumer-protection laws. Identification documents are retained for the duration of your account plus 2 years.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest), regular security audits, and strict access controls. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours.
7. Children
Ziggo is not intended for users under 16. If we learn that we've collected data from someone under 16, we'll delete it promptly.
